I Once Met a Woman

I once met a woman with grey hair.
She did such amazing things everyone would stare.
She looked great in photo's
Pink from head to toe
But when I finally met her it was
"Great thanks!" , oh no!
Across the room I spotted her
I smiled and elbowed my friend
"Look, that's her!" I said
As I waited for my nerves to shed
I told her how much I admired her story.
she replied "Aw, thanks I'm not that praise worthy."
Even though she drove a shiny pink car
And became #2 top in recruiting as our star
How could I not love her journey so far?
She spoke that she was fired from her Hospital job
Joined Mary Kay and took control of her mob.
J.ourney O.f the B.roke no more
So how could I not see she was such a snob?
Maybe she was having a bad day?
Everyone is trying to control their lives in some way.
She dropped off the charts and disappeared.
Denounced her mentor and censor-ship
And became something I no longer revered
"Not all that glimmers is gold"
There was truth to when she was cold.
People really inflated her worth.
Really what I needed was a re-birth.
Not to be told who to put on a pedestal.
And make sure my idols were more credible.
Her favorite color was orange. Not pink.
Her personality with a smile, gone with one blink.
Backwards ideologies in a place she doesn't belong
We definitely have a difference sense of what's right and what's wrong
So long grey haired beauty
who I cheered on and praised
I wonder how it felt at that top in your daze?
I'm sure you could do again if you wanted.
But I won't be fooled, over joyed or daunted.
